Slytherin Sass and Butterbeer- A Hogwarts Dream Come True.

This past weekend I took a much needed trip away from Flagstaff. The destination? Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Okay, so maybe not the real Hogwarts, but a girl can pretend, right?

I would consider myself a pretty ecstatic Harry Potter fan, having read the books multiple times and watched all the movies during my childhood. I’m sure there are bigger and better fans out there, but let me tell you, I almost fainted when I got to Universal Studios and saw the Hogwarts towers peeking out from inside. I thought going to Platform 9 and 3/4 in London on my 20th birthday would kill me ( see that here ), but seeing Hogwarts? This is where my heart almost burst out of my chest.

I am a proud Slytherin, so I of course went all out with the Slytherin sass for the day. After calming myself down and getting all my screams/excited noises out, I went straight to the butterbeer line. I cannot express to you how delicious this drink was to me! It exceeded all my expectations, and I have since looked up about 10 different Pinterest recipes in order to try to make it at home. My only regret was not buying more cups of it.

Honeydukes? Lit. Chocolate Frogs? Majorly cool. We ended up buying one and the card had Lockhart on it, and even though I wanted Dumbledore like in the first Harry Potter book/movie, I was still very happy with Lockhart.

You can see the satisfaction on my face here.

So let’s talk about Ollivander’s! It looks SO real. I completely visualized myself walking in and purchasing the wand Pottermore Quiz results gave me, and I almost shed a tear. If you haven’t taken your sorting hat quiz, your Patronus quiz, or figured out your true wand qualities click here.

The rides were 10/10, even though we didn’t get to go on the biggest one due to the park closing early for Horror Nights, and the lines were honestly quite short. If you’ve been to Disneyland, think of those lines, and cut them in half. The maximum amount we waited was 30 minutes. Overall, probably the best park experience I have had since Disneyland Paris.

As always, thanks for reading!
